Why I rate it
Most remote-work boards are noisy. Micro1 filters for people who can ship real code, review AI outputs, and work without hand-holding. The projects are short, the specs are clear, and the rates reflect the technical bar.
I like it because it treats engineering as the product, not a support function.
Who it fits
This is best if you already have:
- Strong TypeScript, React, or Python experience
- Code-review judgment and the ability to explain trade-offs
- Comfort with AI-assisted workflows — prompting, evaluating, debugging model outputs
- A few hours of focused availability per week
If you are still learning the basics or need daily mentorship, this is probably not the right fit yet.
What the process looks like
- Apply with a short background and project links
- Complete a technical screen focused on real tasks
- Match with projects that fit your stack and schedule
- Work remotely, invoice through the platform
My note
I do not use Micro1 to replace my own client work, but it is a clean way to fill gaps between projects with interesting AI-related work. The quality of the briefs matters more to me than the volume, and here the briefs are usually specific enough that I can decide quickly.
